Foundation 82 was created form the experience of a Thornton Colorado Family whose life was affected by Domestic Violence and Teen and Adult Suicides of Family and Friends

About Foundation 82

In 1982, The Children of Jerry and Mildred Garcia of Thornton, Colorado lost their parents to a murder/suicide. The children were in the age range of 11-22 years old. Out mothers wishes were to stick together and be there for each other as brothers and sisters. During the years since their parents passing, the 6 kids of Jerry and Mildred have stuck together as a family, each one finding a career they are interested in and raised numerous grand-children and great-grandchildren. 

 

The family has also experienced family members who have committed Suicide:

 

A beloved nephew who was a son, father and nephew. 

We lost a sister-in-law to Suicide in 2016. 

 

There have also been longtime friends and acquaintances who have lost sons and daughters from teen suicide.  

 

Foundation 82 wants to provide services and resources for those who are experiencing a Mental Health issue, or are compensating taking their life. There is hope for persons going through these issues and will support in any way we can.
